Books reads so far 2011

Jan

Eat love pray Elizabeth Gilbert
For the second time but this time on my brand new kindle (thanks to Max my brother who bought me the wonderful gadget for my 30th Birthday)
Love the book so much that I can’t bring myself to watch the film.

The reluctant traveller Bill Lumley
Funny at times but a fast ending that felt rushed. Again read on the kindle!!

Felt flower

In an endeavour to relight my crafting mojo here is my first completed craft project for a friend birthday.
I haven’t made anything in felt since I was a child but this was a really easy and cheap project. I’m planning on attaching it to some card as a little gift.

Serenity

grant us the… Serenity to accept things we cannot change,
Courage to change the things we can, and the Wisdom to know the
difference Patience for the things that take time Appreciation for
all that we have, and Tolerance for those with different struggles
Freedom to live beyond the limitations of our past ways, the
Ability to feel love and love for each other and the Strength to
get up and try again even when we feel it is hopeless.

Lemon curd

First attempt at lemon curd! Well to be honest a first
attempt at anything in a jar! Waiting for it to set so we can taste
test it. Really a bit of a budgeting thing made 5 jars one for us
and four for Christmas presents, of it is ok I’m gonna try lime
curd later this week.

Reknitting Nati

So ealier this year I posted about knitting the Nati pattern I had downloaded off Raverly.
In summary it ended up huge but I loved it. So easy to knit as it is all on one piece. I just hope I have the guage right this time.
Here are some photos I found of it last time but didn’t post. Not quite this far along yet!

Nb. Hand made cath kidson cushions can also be seen on the edge of the chair. Will be making some new ones in the near future so will blog a tutorial then :)

So pretty meets Suki

So Suki the dog took a dislike to the pretty wall paper.
Having googled why the dog chewed my new pretty wall I found out that it is quite common apparently dogs are attracted to something in wall paper paste.
Can you believe that a dog as cute as this to such pretty wall paper?
Now what shall I do to fix it?

Is it a pot holder, tea cosie, square for a blanket or other unknown object?

Thanks to Judy from work who’s lovely Mum taught me how to crochet this eve. Was given the Rowen learn to crochet book last Christmas but was unable to make head or tail of it. Goodness knows what it will end up as or whether I will be able to remember how to do it tomorrow but it is a start.

My fav things this week

Baby Elizabeth, the new daughter of my friends who were sure they were going to have another boy.
The freshly sanded floors in my lounge and bedroom.
My husband for all the floor sanding this weekend.
Spending the weekend with my mum and husband doing work on the house and taking the dog for long walks.
And of course the wall paper how beautiful is the wall paper!

So pretty

So pretty wall paper to match my wellies!

Muffins!

Here are some photos of my first ever muffins. Up untill now I have been a cup cake girl. But some of those new fangled pop out muffin trays were on offer in the supermarket for £3 and the rest is history. A down loaded recipe for banana choc chip muffins and less than thirty minutes and I have something to feed my guests at the weekend. Next time I’ll fill them up a little more so they pop out over the top.
Photos included my favorite cake tin which came in a set as a wedding pressent.
